  1. That's fantastic! The colors, the composition, the background and the concept are all spot on. Also, I'm glad the couch got a chance to be drawn well. I'd love to see a Nightcrawler series done like this.

  2. I would like to second an Anthony Nightcrawler series.

  3. Made without computers or any Galadorian Technology!

I'd love to do a comic series set in the early 80's called
    "Rom & She-Hulk: Roomates!"

  6. it's too bad you didn't do this last year in time to enter it into the Bill Mantlo benefit auction. what medium is this done in? at least part of it looks like water colors possibly? for any ROM Spaceknights fans out there who also like cool fan art you might find this blog interesting: http://romspaceknightart.blogspot.com/

  8. Love it! Great job all around. I particularly enjoy the characters and their expressions, it really transforms the scene into something funnier and more complex. Your style is great too! Outstanding!

  9. My version takes place seconds before the original.

  10. Sorry to spoil the love-in, but I really hate this. I find the cartoonification of comic covers to be the weakest mode of re-interpretation one sees here.
I don't think superheroes are cute. Why do people think it's all indie and cool to make them into caricatures?

  11. Dear Anonymous....
Your wish is granted. Have a gander at my super-serious version of Rom and the X-Men (drawn when I was 12 and could take super-heroes seriously):

  12. Gee Anthony, I said I was sorry! Why the defensive sarcasm? Trouble taking criticism? Not everyone appreciates the tone of your work. I just took the time to say so. Is this forum only for praise? You got 7 totally positive remarks, and one negative. That's a pretty good ratio. No need to be snarky.

  13. Oh no...I like criticism. Sometimes I do wish I could draw a truly scary cover or dynamic action cover....but I'm stuck with my style.
Maybe I'll try and do a serious cover out of a silly one.

  14. It's funny that you say your version takes place seconds before the original since I assumed the opposite! It seemed like your classic heroes-meet-and-fight-until-they-realize-they're-on-the-same-side situation.
Rom even helped them move that couch back into place after the fight

  15. That kid is pure evil....!
Well....half evil Dire Wraith (which I always thought of as DIRE WRATH). Rom did bust in through the roof...but everyone's waiting to see what will happen. I haven't figured out how the couch gets messed up.
I'll have to re-read the issue.
