The original cover was done about a year and a half before the end of Kirby's hundred or so issue run on the title. At the time (and still to this day) he seemed to me, a little burned out. The characters, which all began with unique features and physiques, became homogenous bulky musclemen. Black Bolt, Reed Richards, and even Karnak and Johnny Storm all look as if they had been injecting steroids. In addition to some very Kirbyesque but minor upgrades in camera angles, the Dude has also restored the individuality of the characters. Kudos, Dude!
OMG! It´s more Kirby than Kirby himself! BTW I love it!
ReplyDeleteSo good!
ReplyDeleteLove the little tweaks in body language that, in my opinion, make this even more thoughtful and better than the OG. Lovely.
