This is the first repeat cover. About a week after I received Andrew's version and well before I posted it, Anthony sent me this one. It was bound to happen at some point, but I guess I thought it would be something like Action 1, not Avengers 221. In hindsight it makes sense because the artist gets to draw so many characters, including Rom.
I went with comics.org credit of Breeding, but they had a question mark by his name. I agree that it does look like Rubinstein. Anyone else have any info or an opinion?
Believe it or not, I cobbled together a version of this cover from old drawings done in 1980...I was about 10 or 11...I put it up on FLICKR if anyone's interested. It has it's charms but wasn't COVERED BLOG worthy. here's a link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ante1969/3658272436/

ReplyDeleteHey, it's always cool to see different takes on a subject.
ReplyDeleteThis is the only version (so far) with the invisible woman actually drawn in. I guess that's why the names aren't needed here.
ReplyDeleteTechnically they're not the same since the UPC code and the price/issue box are different
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure that JOSEF RUBINSTEIN inked Ed's pencils for the original cover.
