The pun is a little subtle, but Timely was the company that became Marvel in the 1960's. Or did it go Timely > Atlas > Marvel? I'm not too sure.
"Cast member" was an inside joke. Sorry. Ant works for Disney and was sent an e-mail from a higher-up explaining the Marvel acquisition. The letter was addressed "Dear Fellow Cast Members,", which I found to be a delightful bit of corporate-speak worthy of George Saunders.
If only Mickey was painting a little Iron Man figure...that would be timely!
