Thanks for the kind words, all! This was fun. The original B&W version that was deleted to showcase the wonderful color work that Matt contributed can be seen here; http://tinyurl.com/ydtkh86
Brief explanation: Joe sent me the black and white version first which I loaded up and got it ready to go. Then he said he was having it colored and would send me that version. To be honest, I thought the black and white version looked so good that it didn't need to be colored, but the new version he sent is the one you see here and looked amazing. So I switched out the b&w white one and added Matt to the credits. Then the older version posted. I don't know why, but maybe it was for the best, because you could see both. For the people who did not see it check out Joe's link, above.
Joe and Matt... Beautiful artwork...I love it. Your re-do of the cover really captures the way a kid sees comics and translates it into the way adults look at them (if that makes sense). Anyway, Keep on drawing!
I'm a lurker, but this has brought me out of hiding. I saw the B+W one and was in awe. This Colour one is fantastic! It looks like a real used old comic. Nice :)
Oh man this looks awesome, great job!
ReplyDeleteholy cow
ReplyDeleteHold on everybody. It gets even better if I can fix something.
ReplyDeleteThat's better. Very big apologies to both Joe and Matt. I'll explain more once I've walked my dog who badly needs to pee.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! Beautiful in both the pencils and finished versions. Glad I got to see both.

ReplyDeleteActually, I'll hyperlink it: here.
No worries. Thanks so much for posting this Robert!
ReplyDeleteGreat, great job, Matt. I love the ball point pen scribble.
ReplyDeleteThe ball point pen scribble makes it. I have so many Silver Age comics that have "Kevin" or something similar written in 2nd-grade level cursive.
ReplyDeleteJoe and Matt...

p.s.- Ditto Rob on the ball point scribble.
Thanks so much everybody! I'm glad you're liking it, it was a blast to do.
