Submission Guidelines paragraph two: "Also, this isn’t a parody cover site. There’s nothing wrong with parody but it’s a different thing then what this blog is about. Hopefully that makes things crystal clear."
I've discussed the parody issue on the site before on other posts that get into that gray area. I think for now, I'll just say that it's a judgement call that can have me trying to define exactly when something becomes a parody. Sometimes viewers will agree with me, sometimes not.
Megan is a co-worker of mine on American Dad. I really like what she did here and would love to read her Wonder Woman comics. Now that I mention it, you can see just a little A.D. influence in Wonder Woman's mouth and nose. It looks a bit like Fran's. Between you and me, I think Megan's designs are a bit more charming.

ReplyDeleteSo... uhhh?
Love it! Great art.
ReplyDeleteI think the parody portion is pretty understated. It's more about the artistic reinterpretation than it is about the small bag and new words.
Sensational!
ReplyDeleteI don't see this as a parody at all.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I think this is truest to the interpretation aspect of this site then many other covers I've seen here.

All in all, it's 5 shades of awesome!

ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the piece (didn't know she worked on AD) I thought the shape of eyes reminded me of Rogers'.
Fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Great job, Megan!
