  1. I've never seen this book before. I like the bold colors and steep perspective at left, but Robert Goodin's proportion and typographical changes take the cake!

  2. I like both, but I really don't know anything about this book. Gonna check it out.

  4. Thanks everyone. I was a little unhappy with the scan. It seemed to have trouble with both opaque gouache and transparent watercolor in the same painting.

Ludovic is my favorite "Artist that has practically nothing translated into English". He was in Comix 2000 and an issue of Blood Orange, but I think that is it for North American readers. Amazon.ca is probably the best and cheapest place to find his books outside of Europe. I would recommend Céfalus and Le Grand Autre. His drawings are so great that you can still enjoy the books if you can't read French.

Also, if you are in Paris, he is having an exhibit. That was a nice coincidence to get a notice about it the day before my cover posted.

Hopefully someone will come across this and want to translate his work into english.

  5. I love both images but Robert's "Autre" lettering is sooooo damn tasty.

  6. Rob,
Really magical lettering. The whole picture feels magical and fun and slightly ominous at the same time. Your covers always succeed in that they always feel very "Robert Goodin:...like a fingerprint...which is a compliment.

  7. I love it, and I am happy you found a cover that allowed you to draw your awesome trees. I'd kill to be able to draw trees like you do.

  9. I'm amazed that both of these covers give me the same chilly curiosity. Nothing is lacking or expounded upon with the new version.
