Love all the small details, especially the "F.U. F.F.!" airplane banner up in the sky. Haha! Also, the dude spitting on Reed and the angry cat! New York is seriously P.O.'ed at the F.F.! Good job, Nate!
BEAUTIFUL. I really love it when the original is already intentionally goofy (the Human Torch slouching along listlessly grasping his fireproof luggage, too depressed to emit more than a couple inches of flame, is one of the funniest Kirby drawings I've ever seen) but is sort of straining at the limits of acceptable superhero style, and the remake totally honors that spirit and sets the drawing free to be weird enough to fully express it.
Nate McDonough is awesome! Check out his mini-comic series Grixly (http://www.facebook.com/grixly). It's one of the best around.
ReplyDeleteOh my god! Nate is great.

ReplyDeleteWhy does the Veggie Dog Authority have to have their stinking paws in everything?
