  4. Matthew always seems to bring an appropriately disturbing twist on these classic covers. Sweet.

  11. Superman's response sufficiently sums up everything that was going on in the wild and wacky DC Silver Age. Bravo!

  13. These are brilliant, and if you haven't been to his web site, it's equally great too. The way he draws hands is worth the visit alone.

p.s. The awesome thing about World's Finest Comics is that it started in 1942, and had seperate Batman and Superman stories, but they never actually teamed up until 1954. Batman actually meets "Superman's creator Jerry Seigel" in an early Batman. (implying Superman is fictional in the Bat-Universe)

  16. @Matthew - That's one very fine cover re-creation. Good job!

@Ralph - Superman's thought ballon also sums up everything going on in DC's current incarnation as well. Some of the storylines...man, oh, man. Did you read Arsenal #3? Or the Cry for Justice series? Jesus, what's next?

  18. I couldn't find Matthew Allison's website - it's just a link to some blog with only a blurb about him.

  19. If you click on the tag for Matthew at the bottom of the entry, it will take you to other covers that he is done. If you then click onto his website from those, it will take you to his blog. I don't know if this one is different because Matthew wanted me to change it or if I did it on my own (that would seem strange, but weirder things have happened). Matthew, if you are reading this, which would you prefer?
