Anthony V says: I recommend the Fred Hembeck Omnibus. It's a massive book that'll take you a year to read. The auto-bio stuff is my favorite. It's also a history lesson for comics-lovers as well as chock full of thousands of Hembeck comics. I read some of it growing up...but it's nice to see it collected for a good price.
I've been reading it off and on for about a year and am not even halfway done. It's massive. I was reading it today and yesterday. Right now I'm in the mid-eighties when I was at the height of my superhero buying days, so it's fun to read what Fred was writing about them.
Hembeck always hits it out of the park - his issue of "Spectacular Spiderman" back in the mid-eighties during the infamous "assistant editors month" left a huge impression on lil' me.
Happy Day-Before-Your-Birthday, Fred.
ReplyDeleteNice one, Fred.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Happy Birthday to you, Mr. Robert Goodin.
yer pal,
Ant
Wasn't Hembeck the first to do these? This is a great one!
